In a nutshell:

The name ‘Silk Route' conjures images of caravans bearing incredible wealth across the deserts and mountains from China to Central Asia - images of colourful bazaars, priceless jewels and richly woven carpets and fabrics; exotic perfumes and spices. This extraordinary journey traces the ancient Silk Route from its source in Xian through an ever changing landscape to the fabled city of Kashgar. Being the largest junction on the silk route, Kashgar remains a thriving market town. Our visit includes the famous Sunday Markets.
