Day tour visiting Tian An Men Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park (to gain a bird’s eye view of Forbidden City from north side), walking tour of Hutong. Overnight in hotel.

Leave hotel at 08:00am and we will drive 300km from Beijing to Great Wall Shanhaiguan, where the Great Wall reaches the Bohai Sea. Afternoon visit to Shanhaiguan City Gate nicknamed as Number 1 Gate under the heaven and Dragon’s Head where the Great Wall reaches the ocean. Overnight in Shanhai Hotel.

Morning hiking on the Jiaoshan Great Wall. Jiaoshan Great Wall is 5km away. 08:30am check out hotel and we will ride in our vehicle for 10 minutes to get there.

Hiking distance: 3.6km
Elevation gain: 310 meters (some part is quite steep and frequent stop for breath is recommended). Highest point is 361 meters above sea level (we are only 1-2km away from the ocean.)
There is a gondola here in service. One trip is US$3.00, round trip US$5.00.
The first half of the wall is well repaired, but the part on hilltop and further away is all wild wall.
After lunch in local restaurant, we will ride in our van and transfer to Panjiakou Water Reservoir. The total distance is 180km and it is going to take 4 hours. The hotel to use is Panxu Hotel located right at the reservoir area which is very peaceful and quiet with only a few households nearby.

Morning boat ride on the lake. We will use a fast small boat of 6 passengers propelled by Mercury engine. The water reservoir covers a very large area and the boat ride will take 15-20 minutes to get to the scenic spot. The local people make use of the water to farm fish and the whole lake becomes a big fish pond. We will visit 2 very interesting sites of the Great Wall.

(1) Great Wall Panjiakou
The boat ride takes about 15-20 minutes. We will come here first. On the boat ride all passengers are required to wear a life vest (supplied by the boat). When we get to Great Wall Panjiakou, we will get off boat and walk onshore. We will have a short hike from here.

Hiking distance: 1300 meters round trip
Returning back to our boat and we will ride for 15 minutes to Great Wall Xifengkou.

Hiking distance: 1200 meters round trip
12:30noon Return back to boat and ride back to pier and get onshore for lunch. Afternoon bus transfer for 53km to Zunhua town. At 4:30pm arrival in Zunhua. Exploring downtown area.

Overnight in Zunhua International Hotel (comfort class).

Morning transfer 13km to wild Great Wall Luowenyu.
Hiking 2.43km to Village Ganjiayu.

Elevation gain: 369 meters
Lunch in local restaurant. Afternoon transfer 48km to Eastern Qing Tombs. These are the tombs of Qing Dynasty Royal Family. Altogether there are 15 tombs, but we will visit Qian Long tomb only due to time limit.

Drive 2 hours to Jinshanling after visit. Overnight in Jinshanling guest house.
